The EHS Coordinator at GE Aerospace in Clearwater Florida supports day-to-day Environmental Health & Safety programs to promote safety compliance and continuous improvement across the site. Responsibilities include maintaining EHS records and documentation managing PPE and safety equipment monitoring workplace hazards (radiation chemical biological noise) assisting with sampling reporting and incident follow-up and reviewing licenses and permits. Candidates must be at least 18 with a high school diploma or equivalent be proficient in Microsoft Office be able to lift up to 35 pounds and be willing to work in environments with hazardous materials and flexible hours.

We are looking for an EHS Coordinator to support our sites Environmental Health & Safety programs and help create a workplace where safety compliance and continuous improvement come this role you will support day-to-day EHS activities under the guidance of site EHS leadership helping ensure employees have the tools processes and support needed to work safely and in compliance with applicable requirements. Youll help support a strong culture of safety compliance and continuous improvement.

What youll do

As an EHS Coordinator you will help support critical EHS programs and site operations by:

  • Maintaining required EHS records documentation and site notices

  • Participating in one or more Environmental Health & Safety framework elements and supporting broader site EHS initiatives

  • Supporting the availability maintenance and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety supplies

  • Verifying that equipment such as dosimetry and PPE is available and used correctly by employees

  • Preparing and calibrating equipment used to collect and analyze samples

  • Helping monitor workplace conditions related to environmental hazards including radiation chemical biological and noise exposure

  • Supporting safety equipment purchasing by reviewing specifications and helping ensure compliance with health and safety standards

  • Assisting with environmental analysis reporting workplace studies and accident investigation follow-up in partnership with the EHS team

  • Reviewing credentials licenses and permits to support site compliance requirements

To be considered for this role candidates should bring the following:

Required qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • This role may encounter high risk or hazardous operations and/or include working shifts beyond a standard workweek. As such a requirement of the role is to be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel PowerPoint and Word

  • Ability to lift/move materials up to 35 pounds

  • Ability to work in environments that may involve hazardous materials

  • Flexibility to work overtime as required

Preferred qualifications

  • 2- or 4-year post-secondary education with coursework in occupational and environmental safety and health

  • Previous EHS training

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • EHS certificates or related credentials
