The Public Health Services Department of RiverStone Health exists to improve the life health and safety of Yellowstone County residents at the population level. Services include the prevention of poor health outcomes and health behaviors through assessment health education direct clinical and case management services community partnerships policy systems and environmental health strategies. Health Promotion Services include health education community partnerships coalition building policy systems and environmental strategies.

The Early Interventions Coordinator supports the implementation of various early childhood interventions including lead poisoning prevention universally offered home visiting and support for individuals with young children. This position works with RiverStone Health staff and community partners to support effective project implementation coordinated community action and achievement of program goals. The coordinator promotes health within the community by acting as a liaison or advocate and implementing projects and activities that promote maintain and improve individual and overall community health.

A. Program Coordinator Responsibilities 50%

• Coordinate efforts associated with the preparation of regulatory documents or submissions.

• Review clinical protocols to ensure collection of data needed for regulatory submissions.

• Participate in internal or external audits.

• Compile and maintain regulatory documentation databases or systems.

• Maintain current knowledge base of existing and emerging regulations standards or guidance documents.

• Identify relevant guidance documents international standards or consensus standards.

• Interpret regulatory rules or rule changes and ensure that they are communicated through policies and procedures.

• Maintain relevant inventories of supplies.

• Provide or coordinate services for guests patients staff as necessary.

• Participate in quality improvement and Emergency Preparedness activities.

• Advise clients or community groups on issues related to improving general health including substance misuse and resource navigation.

• Advocate for individual or community health needs with government agencies or health service providers.

• Attend community meetings or health fairs to understand community issues or build relationships with community members.

• Maintain updated client records with plans notes appropriate forms or related information.

• Teach classes or otherwise disseminate health information to school groups community groups or targeted families or individuals in a manner consistent with cultural norms.

• Provide feedback to health and social service providers regarding improving service accessibility or acceptability.

• Refer community members to needed health and social services.

B. Early Interventions Coordinator Responsibilities 45%

• Work directly with members of Public Health Services to identify design implement and evaluate early intervention initiatives supporting youth and their families.
• Coordinate implementation of the lead poisoning prevention contract through the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services ensuring alignment with established workplans timelines deliverables and program goals.
• Coordinate efforts to support and sustain the universally offered home visiting (Welcome Baby) initiative in partnership with Welcome Baby Community Health Worker(s).
• Facilitate collaboration among team members stakeholders and community partners to effectively execute screening intervention and outreach activities.
• Coordinate Welcome Baby outreach and communications activities including development and updating of outreach materials partner in-services community events social media content awareness campaigns and other promotional efforts.
• Assist in data analysis efforts and contribute to the interpretation of findings related to project effectiveness.
• Assist in facilitating trainings in lead prevention capillary testing and universally offered home visiting systems program goals referral pathways and impact.
• Provide input to the Health Promotion Services Manager in the development of workplans reporting templates quality improvement metrics communication relevant budgets and reporting documents.
• Coordinate monthly reporting and monthly key performance indicators.
• Coordinate the Grown in Billings Coalition and facilitate collaboration among community partners to identify needs and develop resources partnerships and strategies that support young children and families in Yellowstone County.
• Coordinate advisory groups focus groups and other opportunities for partner and participant input and support the development implementation and refinement of resources and strategies in response to identified needs.
• Serve as a project contact liaison and technical assistant with community organizations and other partners.
• Conduct and/or coordinate regular oral and written communication (including website and social media communication) about project goals facts policy advocacy and partner activities.
• Regularly report to internal and external partners on progress towards deliverables outcomes and metrics.
• Produce maintain revise and submit required reporting documents in a timely manner with the Health Promotion Senior Manager as final approval.
• Perform effective public speaking to groups with varied interests and backgrounds; develop and deliver informative and persuasive communications to engage community partners to expand the reach of Welcome Baby and lead poisoning prevention programs in Yellowstone County.

• Coordinate local training activities and skill-building opportunities.

• Perform other duties as assigned in support of the RiverStones mission and goals.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma

• Equivalent of two (2) years experience in a directly related field such as health promotion non-profit services health services or a directly related field or in experience in a position of similar or transferrable skills and duties

• Any combination of experience and training which provide the equivalent scope of knowledge skills and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with underserved population

• Bachelors degree in related field

• Experience working with community health workers care managers peer specialists navigators and/or related professions.
