Pay:$20.57 per hourJob description:Job SummaryWe are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals with diverse needs including developmental disabilities aging or health this vital role you will support residents in their daily activities promote independence and ensure a safe respectful and engaging environment. Your dedication will help enhance quality of life for those you serve while fostering a positive and nurturing -Time weekend hours are 7:00AM - 3:00PM or 3:00PM - 11:00PM Friday Saturday and are located in Union individuals needs and develops an effective counseling/support relationshipProvides hands on assistance with activities of daily living including bathing and hygiene and helps with fire drills and/or other health and safety issues as neededProvides assistance for daily living skills supportive counseling and direct care assistanceHelps with food shopping menu planning and meal preparationCommunicates ongoing care results and updates to relevant partiesCollaborates with families and superiors for best care opportunitiesHelps to arrange and attend social activitiesTransports members to medical appointments recreation activities ensure a safe clean organized environmentEnsures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standardsHelps resolve member and family concernsAttends required trainings staff meetings and other meetings/events as requestedPerforms other duties as requiredQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED requiredValid drivers licenseCar to use for work purposes with valid NJ drivers licenseExcellent communication skills verbal and writtenExperience working with individuals with developmental disabilities a plusWilling and able to attend required trainings outside of normal work hoursRequirementsPrior experience working in group homes assisted living facilities nursing homes or home & community care settings preferredKnowledge of patient observation techniques dementia care (including Alzheimers and memory care) autism support and hospice or end-of-life care is highly desirableCertification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or medication administration are a plusAbility to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks involved in patient handling and mobility assistanceStrong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary teamDemonstrated patience empathy and a genuine desire to support individuals with disabilities or health challengesFlexibility to work various shifts including evenings weekends or overnight hours as neededJoin us as a Direct Support Professional if youre passionate about making a positive impact through dedicated caregiving!
