The DSI Technician assists with the safe and efficient operation of the stations dry sorbent injection systems at a fossil fuel power plant. This is an entry level developmental position which receives technical guidance training and assignments from higher level technicians and role will pay $33.98 per hour.Job Description
Overview:
The DSI Technician assists with the safe and efficient operation of the stations dry sorbent injection systems at a fossil fuel power plant. This is an entry level developmental position which receives technical guidance training and assignments from higher level technicians and supervisors.
Responsibilities:
- Move and switch railcars for unloading facility
- Operation of Trackmobile
- Unloading of railcars
- Maintenance and upkeep of entire DSI system
- Preventive Maintenance of all equipment
- Use of overhead crane
- Unloading of trucks and other deliveries
- Assisting other departments as needed
- General housekeeping (hosing sweeping and shoveling)
- Perform Lock Out Tag Out Operations along with operating 480 volt breakers
- Use of forklift and scissor lift
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Preferred- Associates Degree related to power plants or other relevant industry technical degree or relevant military experience.
- Possess a valid drivers license.
- Preferred-Possess an understanding of complex mechanical electrical and thermal processes.
- Preferred-The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating procedures and maintenance instruments manuals.
- The ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions while exposed to heat cold operating machinery energized wires loud noise dust grease oil and fumes.
- Ability to interact with co-workers and all levels of management in a professional manner.
- Must be able to frequently climb stairs; climb ladders to and work from elevated platforms and walkways at elevations of 75 feet or more.
