Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Culture

  • Promote a culture of security safety compliance and risk awareness throughout the district.
  • Champion Expeditors 10 Cultural Attributes: Appearance Attitude Confidence Curiosity Excellence Integrity Pride Resolute Sense of Humor and Visionary.
  • Educate and coach employees management and service providers on security and health & safety standards incident reporting and best practices.
  • Participate in District Business Review meetings to address security and safety concerns trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Serve as a visible advocate for workplace safety security awareness and operational excellence.

Security Safety & Compliance Management

  • Lead implementation and maintenance of Expeditors Security Standards Health & Safety Standards and Operational Process Standards.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with applicable local security health & safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage workplace security and safety risk assessments to identify hazards vulnerabilities and mitigation opportunities.
  • Support district business continuity planning testing and recovery initiatives.
  • Manage corrective and preventive actions related to security and safety incidents audits assessments and inspections.
  • Monitor and ensure timely closure of corrective actions and improvement opportunities within established timelines.

Incident Management & Investigations

  • Lead investigations of all security incidents workplace injuries near misses and safety concerns.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure security incidents safety incidents and near misses are reported investigated documented and closed within required timeframes.
  • Communicate incident findings and trends to district leadership and Regional/CHQ Security and Safety teams.

Systems & Facility Management

  • Manage security and health & safety systems including:
    • CCTV and surveillance systems
    • Access control and intrusion alarm systems
    • Fire protection systems and extinguishers
    • Security and Health & Safety Portals
    • Material handling equipment and related safety resources
  • Monitor system effectiveness and recommend process and system improvements.
  • Support facility security and safety inspections and ensure appropriate corrective actions are completed.

Communication & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the primary liaison for security and health & safety matters with:
    • District leadership and employees
    • Regional and CHQ Security and Safety teams
    • Customers and customer audit teams
    • Service providers and carriers
    • Law enforcement and regulatory authorities
  • Keep district management informed of regulatory changes new initiatives best practices and training opportunities.
  • Support customer audits assessments and security or safety compliance inquiries.
  • Assist sales and account management teams with customer-specific security and safety requirements.

Service Provider & Operational Oversight

  • Conduct onboarding and ongoing reviews of service providers to verify compliance with security and safety expectations.
  • Perform service provider risk assessments and communicate findings to responsible managers.
  • Monitor remediation plans and ensure timely resolution of non-compliant findings.
  • Support operational teams in maintaining compliance with district standards and customer requirements.

CTPAT AEO & Regulatory Programs

  • Maintain working knowledge of CTPAT AEO and other applicable World Customs Organization security programs.
  • Coordinate preparation for validation visits audits and assessments.
  • Facilitate post-validation reviews and implementation of improvement actions.
  • Promote awareness of program benefits and business continuity advantages.

Training & Development

  • Deliver and facilitate security and health & safety training programs.
  • Conduct new employee service provider facility lockdown emergency response and job-specific safety orientations.
  • Ensure training content is tailored to employee roles and responsibilities.
  • Facilitate internal and external training sessions as required.
  • Attend required regional conference calls training programs and development activities.
  • Maintain required certifications and complete all assigned development plans.

Qualifications :

Qualifications & Development Requirements

  • Ability to lead security safety compliance and risk management initiatives.
  • Strong investigation communication training and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety regulations security systems and supply chain security programs.
  • Ability to influence and educate employees at all organizational levels.
  • Preferred certifications or development paths:
    • Level I Trainer Certification
    • Level I Supply Chain Security Certification
    • Physical Security Professional (PSP)
    • Certified Protection Professional (CPP)
    • Other relevant health & safety certifications

Physical Requirements

  • Regular use of standard office equipment including computer keyboard mouse telephone and multifunction devices.
  • Ability to conduct facility walkthroughs inspections investigations and risk assessments.
  • Ability to work both on-site and off-site as needed.
  • Functions performed primarily in an office environment with periodic warehouse and operational facility exposure.
