Job Summary
V-Tech Solutions is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) responsible for the safety supervision and support of individuals in a residential setting. The role involves implementing individualized treatment plans assisting with daily living and therapeutic activities responding to crisis situations and providing CPR and First Aid when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure safety supervision and well-being of individuals in a residential program.
- Implement individualized treatment habilitation educational and behavioral support plans.
- Assist with daily living skills personal care recreation and community participation.
- Document progress incidents and daily activities per program requirements.
- Administer medications after required certification (CMT in MD TME in DC).
- Prepare meals and maintain a clean safe environment.
- Respond to emergencies crises and behavioral incidents using approved procedures.
- Provide transportation to appointments and community activities.
- Maintain communication with supervisors regarding resident needs and incidents.
- Participate in training meetings and professional development.
Required Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and maintain accurate documentation.
- Problem-solving and crisis intervention skills.
- Ability to build professional relationships with individuals families and staff.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Knowledge of person-centered care and behavioral support.
- Medical database management experience.
Education & Experience
One of the following:
- High school diploma/GED plus 1 year experience in developmental disabilities or autism support (or related caregiving experience)
- Associate degree in Human Services or related field
- Bachelors degree in Psychology or related field
Pay Rate: $20.10 per hour
