Job Summary
Proven technical expertise executing project support/leadership within a particular technical area.
Manages a medium team of senior professionals as well as others. Requires specialized knowledge within the function.
Influence the development of strategy for the area of responsibility including control of resources and influences policy formulation.
Have accountability to work with the GEH engineering Product Management and Project Delivery teams to fulfill the needs of acquisition and support of engineering software and tools.
Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products processes or services. Stays informed of industry trends that may inform work.
Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational product management manufacturing technology or engineering. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
May lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements risk and/or complexity. Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others options on particular topics. May guide others to consider a different point of view.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or STEM Majors (Science Technology Engineering and Math)
Minimum 8 years of experience in engineering roles.
Eligibility Requirements
- This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e. U.S. citizens permanent residents and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
- 25% travel. Less travel if located in Wilmington NC.
Desired Characteristics
Experience with Engineering Design Tools Software Quality Infrastructure Support.
Experience with managing people to fulfill functional needs of software quality application configuration and management and infrastructure support.
Strong project execution skills and experience
Experience with execution in large construction or engineering projects.
Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects. Ability to document plan market and execute programs. Established project management skills.
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
