About KOLO:

KOLO 8 News Now is the ABC affiliate television station serving the Reno/Sparks area Northern Nevada and parts of eastern California. KOLO broadcasts seven hours of news weekdays. We are also dedicated to serving the community through KOLO Cares partnering with area non-profit organizations.

Job Summary/Description:

The Digital Content Director is responsible for the overall digital content strategy within the newsroom. This includes developing best practices and strategies and providing oversight for the digital content team and other newsroom employees who are contributing to digital content for KOLO. The Digital Content Director also generates edits creates and shares content on the KOLO station website and social media accounts daily to help grow our audiences.

Daily duties include writing and posting news stories to the KOLO website and social media pages editing and proofreading all local stories posted on clipping video for web stories discussing social media strategy with reporters the digital content team and the creative services department pursuing possible story ideas for reporters and following up on breaking news.

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Three years of prior newsroom experience is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with social media and ARC is a plus.
