JOB TITLE: Digital Content & Analytics Assistant

LOCATION: St. Paul Campus

PAY RATE: $16.50-17.50/ hour

HOURS:Up to 810 hours per week. Must be able to work 2-3 days per week for at least90 minutesat a time. Flexible scheduling around classes.

JOB SUMMARY

The PR/Communications team within the University of Marketing Insights and Communications department is seeking a student interested in websites analytics search and digital content to help strengthen the performance and usability of the Newsroom.

The Digital Content & Analytics Assistant will help track how audiences find and engage with Newsroom content and use that information to improve content performance. The student will gain hands-on experience with website analytics search engine optimization (SEO) WordPress digitalaccessibilityand content strategy.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Track and report on Newsroom website traffic audienceengagementand content performance.
  • Helpidentifyhigh-performing content traffic sources searchtrendsand opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct keyword research and helpoptimizeheadlines summariesmetadataand existing content for search.
  • Publish and update content in WordPress.
  • Review pages for metadata links formatting alt textaccessibilityand other quality issues.
  • Help update landing pages and other Newsroom content.
  • Use basic HTML/CSS whenappropriate to help troubleshoot or improve digital content.
  • Help turnwebsiteand search data into recommendations for future content.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Interestin websites analytics SEO digitalcontentor technology.
  • Strong analytical problem-solvingand organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Computer Science data or business analytics marketing communications web design UX/UIand related majors are especially encouraged to apply but students from any major are welcome.
  • Experience with website analytics SEO tools or WordPress is helpful but not.
  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS is preferred but not.

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for student employment St. Thomas students must be degree seeking at the undergraduate graduate and doctoral levels.
