Overview: We are looking for a Systems Engineer II with a strong troubleshooting and automation mindset to support a large-scale device activation and backend application environment. This role sits at the intersection of Systems Engineering DevOps Test Automation and Application Support. The team supports backend systems responsible for device activation configuration management and operational workflows tied to routers modems set top boxes and other connected devices.
This is a highly collaborative environment focused on automation deployments troubleshooting and operational support. The ideal candidate is curious adaptable and enjoys learning how systems work across infrastructure and applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Support system and functional testing for backend applications and device activation workflows
Troubleshoot issues involving device activation DHCP DNS configuration files and related networking functions
Assist with Docker Kubernetes and Helm deployments within private cloud/CaaS environments
Support CI/CD and automation initiatives using tools such as Argo
Investigate production issues through log analysis monitoring and troubleshooting activities
Work with Linux systems in a highly operational environment
Support deployment activities and ongoing operational maintenance
Participate in automation efforts involving Java and Python-based frameworks
Manage and respond to Jira-based operational and support tickets
Collaborate closely with QA Systems Engineering Infrastructure and Development teams
Assist with manual testing and validation activities when needed
Required Experience:
Experience working in Linux environments
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Exposure to automation scripting or DevOps-focused work
Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes
Understanding of networking fundamentals including DHCP and DNS
Experience with Java or Python
Comfortable working with Jira and operational ticket queues
Ability to learn new applications and systems quickly
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Experience:
Splunk or log analysis tools
CI/CD tooling such as Argo
Helm deployments
AWS or cloud infrastructure exposure
Test automation experience
AI-assisted development or automation exposure
