What Youll Do

Participates with technical personnel (in maintenance operations production R&D activities and other related functions) analyzing and evaluating technical problems developing experimental outlines scheduling procedural steps and establishing priorities. Independently conducts tests experiments and analyses. Operates and troubleshoots equipment and gathers reduces evaluates and interprets data. Prepares reports and procedures and may direct the work of others.

The technician will be assigned full time (40 hours weekly) to support Development hands-on activities involving lithium special materials and/or uranium process development from bench to pilot scale. Other activities involve housekeeping lab clean-up and rudimentary experiments during periods of project downtime. He/she will maintain a high standard for safety and housekeeping.

Minimum Job Requirements

Associate degree in related discipline: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
High school diploma: Minimum 8 years of relevant experience.

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.

This position may require entry into the Material Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (10 C.F.R. Part 712) which requires successful competition of a DOE counterintelligence evaluation and may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination.
