Role Overview

The Detailer I Spooler provides basic support on construction projects including receiving logging tracking expediting and distribution of shop drawings RFIs and other construction project documentation. The role creates basic shop drawings for major mechanical systems and prepares equipment room layouts and detailed drawings.

Working alongside the design and build team the Detailer I Spooler assists with time and cost analysis related to clash detection provides MEP coordination and basic 3D modeling using BIM and participates in construction and project meetings while building proficiency in Navisworks Revit and AutoCAD.

Core Responsibilities

  1. Creates basic shop drawings for major mechanical systems in major construction projects.
  2. Prepares equipment room layouts and detailed drawings.
  3. Maintains a protocol of documents in such a way that information can be retrieved and understood by others.
  4. Assists with time/cost analysis related to potential errors of clash detection.
  5. Provides MEP coordination and basic 3D modeling using BIM.
  6. Attends and participates in construction and other meetings as required.
  7. Collaborates with design and build team to eliminate construction errors due to design flaws.

Required Background

  1. High School or GED and 2 years of detailing experience or currently enrolled in trade apprenticeship program
  2. Basic verbal and written communication skills
  3. Ability to write edit and proofread content
  4. Basic understanding of craft
  5. Ability to read and interpret basic construction documents
  6. Current knowledge of HVAC Plumbing Piping Sheet Metal trades and field installation methods
  7. Attention to detail
  8. Ability to coordinate projects
  9. Navisworks Revit AutoCAD experience
