Desktop Technician

Location: Owings Mills MD

• Pay Rate: $30.00$36.00 / Hour (USD)

The main function of a Desktop Technician is to be responsible for the installation configuration and administration of Windows desktops. These roles will support high-volume walk-up traffic in the innovations hub at Owings Mills.

• Assist in the software and hardware life cycle management processes including research packaging quality assurance and deployment preparation
• Set up new users including desktop configuration email accounts LDAP accounts VPN accounts
• Support employees both local and remote with desktop issues account issues and access to various internal services
• Troubleshoot software issues on employees desktops/laptops
• Some off-hours support may apply

• Knowledge of Windows OS
• Experience with desktop installation and configuration
• Experience troubleshooting desktop issues as well as mobile devices
• Strong customer service and customer-facing skills
• Troubleshooting of the Office 365 suite including Excel Macros
• Detail-oriented with the ability to handle high-volume walk-up traffic in person

• Experience in financial services or large enterprise environments preferred; experience in an innovation hub or lab environment with direct customer interaction is equally preferred

• Associates degree in a technical field such as computer science computer engineering or related field required

• 57 years of experience required (candidates with strong troubleshooting skills and fewer years of experience will also be considered)

• Fully in-person customer-facing role for the entire workday at the innovation hub
• Onsite interview required; interview will consist primarily of software-focused questions
