Overall Responsibilities:

Designer IV will support Product Engineers. They will be responsible for completing assemblies creating Bill of Materials for sheet metal assembly and signing off on the worklog.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work with the Design team to create drawings for production and other departments.
  • Create and maintain Bill of Materials for new parts and assemblies in Solid Edge.
  • Ensure that fabricated parts and assembly drawings are completed on time to the project worklog or ECN dates.
  • Create complex parts and sheet metal 3D models.
  • Visualize a concept from 2D to 3D and vice versa.
  • Create and maintain all submittals installation and instructional drawings.
  • Create and maintain drawing templates/title blocks through Solid Edge.
  • Drive peer over peer review of 3D designs.
  • Mentor designers within the department.
  • Support the production floor for cabinet design issues.
  • Review engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to cabinet design requirements and fabrication capabilities.
  • Generate renderings for literature and company websites.
  • Capable of completing all cabinet designs independently.
  • Ensure that sheet metal part designs are production ready (drawings costs and system item data).
  • Design piping and electrical routings.
  • Create and maintain full sheet metal modules in the breakdowns.
  • Collaborate and encourage teamwork within the department.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.
Required Education:
  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) with 4-5 years of experience
  • A.S. in Drafting and Design or equivalent with 2 years of experience
Requirements / Skills / Abilities:
  • Advanced knowledge of Addison HVAC DOAS products
  • Advanced knowledge of Sheet Metal Designs
  • Advanced 3D CAD software knowledge (Solid Edge or SolidWorks preferred)
  • Expertise in ERP Bill of Material and Part Data
  • Proficient in 2D Drawing Geometry
  • Trainer capabilities
  • Knowledge of ECN Processes
  • Detail oriented
  • Great time management skills
  • Strong communication proficiency
  • Excellent problem solving skills
