Design Technician II Engineering

PURPOSEThis individual is responsible for reading plans and creating designs and placement drawings prepared directly from information submitted on a company order form. Completes CAD work while working alongside the design manager. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDevelops layout and design drawings from architectural drawings or sketches provided to the company. Makes phone calls to building designers or professionals to obtain or clarify information shown on blue line placement plans identifying the location of the individual obtain information pertaining to products supplied by the company that have been field modified or damaged. The information is summarized and given to a professional engineer to evaluate and complete repair drawings when technical data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance with technical and other engineering personnel and prepares design modifications as plans and diagrams or observes and makes notes on material processing to determine material and material processing specifications or specifications for construction technical descriptions specifying material qualities and rough sketches or arranges for finished drawings or photographs to illustrate specified materials or assembly duties as RESPONSIBILITIESThis job has no supervisory REQUIREMENTSTo perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. Associates degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and with PrimeCad MS Word MS Excel and AutoCAD is required. COMPETENCIESAbility to read analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers regulatory agencies or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management public groups and/or boards of to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
