Design Engineer

Position Summary

The Production Engineer supports the design and manufacture of contour forgings through forging process development tooling design production support and technical problem solving. This position works cross-functionally with Production Quality Metallurgy Sales Maintenance customers and outside vendors.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Learn and apply company forging design fundamentals to develop forging processes and associated tooling.
• Provide engineering support throughout the forge shop including troubleshooting production tooling and dimensional issues.
• Work with Quality Inspection Production and other departments to evaluate forging requirements and resolve manufacturing issues.
• Evaluate tooling condition and coordinate tooling rework repair and outside processing as required.
• Review engineering drawings customer specifications and manufacturing requirements.
• Maintain engineering drawings tooling records purchase orders and other technical documentation.
• Support continuous improvement process development and corrective-action activities.

Qualifications Design Engineer

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Strong mechanical aptitude analytical ability and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with CAD software and ability to interpret engineering drawings and dimensional requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication teamwork and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with other departments customers and vendors.
• Manufacturing forging machining or tooling experience preferred.
