What You Will Do
- Use SolidWorks to create concept models and translate approved concepts into accurate detailed production drawings.
- Design and draft custom and standard products in accordance with company drafting standards.
- Coordinate with architects engineers customers and internal partners to confirm product and structural requirements.
- Calculate dimensions material requirements weight limitations and equipment needs.
- Prepare and review sketches with the engineering team before developing final CAD designs.
- Identify potential manufacturing or operational issues and revise designs to improve function quality and manufacturability.
- Ensure final designs comply with applicable regulations specifications and quality standards.
- Create and maintain build books product manuals diagrams layouts and step-by-step production documentation.
- Generate and review bills of material for accuracy and completeness.
- Review peer drawings and designs for completeness consistency and accuracy.
- Support sales with product specifications and custom-order questions and assist engineering with new-product development and product improvements.
What You Bring
- Hands-on proficiency with SolidWorks or comparable computer-aided design software.
- Working knowledge of building manufacturing or production processes.
- Ability to interpret drawings specifications measurements and technical requirements.
- Strong spatial reasoning mathematical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to organize multiple assignments and meet deadlines without compromising quality.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and the judgment to clarify requirements before proceeding.
- A collaborative professional approach when working with engineering production sales customers and outside partners.

- Design risks or missing requirements are identified early and resolved before release.
