Job Summary
Join our Database Systems Engineering team within the Fleet Operation Engineering Group the people responsible for keeping the systems and storage infrastructure that power Apples services running at extraordinary role sits at the heart of large-scale storage operations. Youll own the configuration provisioning and health of SAN environments designing automation tools that reduce toil maintaining Linux infrastructure at massive scale and partnering closely with developers DBAs network engineers and EPMs to build the environments that make Apples products you are energized by solving complex storage and systems challenges thrive in collaborative cross-functional settings and take pride in building reliable automated infrastructure youll find a meaningful home on our team.
Configure and provision FCP and Infiniband multi-path storage devices across large-scale SAN environmentsnDeploy and maintain Linux servers and external flash storage appliances at high volumenDevelop and maintain automation and monitoring tools to improve reliability and reduce manual operationsnAdminister and troubleshoot complex SAN storage subsystems including environments running Oracle and Oracle RACnPerform performance reviews and root-cause analysis on storage and infrastructure issuesnManage configuration using tools such as Puppet and VerdadnCollaborate regularly with developers DBAs network engineers and EPMs to build new environments and support new product initiatives
Experience with scripting languages such as Python Ruby Go Swift or Java or other object-oriented programming languagesnKnowledge of networking fundamentals as they relate to storage and systems infrastructurenFamiliarity with Oracle software stack and/or NoSQL databasesnExperience with version control systems such as Git
Experience with configuration management tools such as PuppetnAbility to thrive in a highly collaborative cross-functional environment with a sense of shared ownershipnHands-on knowledge of UNIX and Linux systems administration nA Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science Information Management or a related field
