Database Administrator Position Description
We are seeking a DBA to join our team. The selected candidate will work onsite in Tallahassee FL alongside the project team.
Summary:
The DBA team is responsible for ensuring the application and processing architectures data dictionaries and database schemas meet the department standards for data requirements. The candidate in this position will be responsible for assisting in the design development amendments and optimization of the schema to meet system(s) requirements. The candidate must be able to understand and demonstrate the ability to develop database and warehousing design across multiple platforms and computing environments. The candidate must be able to work as part of a team to assist in developing an overall data architecture that supports the Departments needs and meets Department and Agency for State Technology (AST) security standards.

The candidate must have skill and 15 years combined experience in database administration for the following database platforms:

Database Administrator Position Description
We are seeking a DBA to join our team. The selected candidate will work onsite in Tallahassee FL alongside the project team.

- Bachelors degree in computer science Information Systems or another related field. Or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
The candidate must have skill and 15 years combined experience in database administration for the following database platforms:
- DB2 for z/OS
- SQL Server 2008R2 2012
- Oracle 10g and above
- Experience with the FDOT integrated database infrastructure is a plus.
- Knowledge of the FDOT Financial Management applications is a plus.
- Knowledge of the FDOT integrated application environment is a plus
Primary Job Duties/ Tasks:
This resource will primarily be tasked with performing Database (DB2 SQL Server Oracle GIS) planning and operational activities including but not limited to the following:
- Daily operational and database administration activities
- Plan design implement support for database structures
- Conduct database performance monitoring and tuning
- Develop and maintain database administration procedures and documentation
- Perform SQL Code reviews
- Assist with training/mentoring other technical staff This resource may also be required to perform other database or infrastructure activities as requested
