Position Overview

Great Basin Staffing LLC is seeking experienced Data Center Network Technician III (Tech 3) Lead Network Technicians and Network Infrastructure Auditors/Validators for a major hyperscale data center project.

This is an advanced technical position NOT an entry-level low-voltage or cable-pulling role.

We need technicians who can independently troubleshoot network connectivity issues diagnose down circuits validate fiber and copper infrastructure and restore connectivity using laptops network diagnostic software and specialized testing equipment.

Experience working on Meta or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) data center projects is highly valued.

Qualified technicians must be capable of identifying connectivity failures performing advanced troubleshooting validating completed installations and resolving issues with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Independently troubleshoot and restore down circuits and network connectivity
  • Use laptops and network diagnostic tools to identify and resolve connectivity failures
  • Diagnose fiber-optic copper patching and physical-layer network issues
  • Perform end-to-end circuit testing validation and troubleshooting
  • Audit and validate installed network cabling connections and infrastructure
  • Verify network ports link status signal levels and connectivity
  • Troubleshoot network switches interfaces and associated physical connections
  • Use OTDR Fluke testers optical power meters and other diagnostic equipment
  • Verify fiber polarity continuity optical loss and proper termination
  • Validate MDF/IDF installations racks patch panels and network connections
  • Read network diagrams fiber maps cable schedules and as-built documentation
  • Document testing results deficiencies corrective actions and completed validations
  • Coordinate with network engineers commissioning teams and project leadership
  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to junior technicians
  • Support network commissioning quality control and project turnover

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3 years of advanced low-voltage structured cabling or network infrastructure experience
  • Proven ability to independently troubleshoot down circuits and network connectivity issues
  • Experience using laptops and network diagnostic software for connectivity troubleshooting
  • Strong understanding of fiber-optic and copper network infrastructure
  • Hands-on experience performing network audits testing and validation
  • Ability to diagnose physical-layer network issues involving fiber copper ports and patching
  • Experience with OTDR Fluke testing equipment optical power meters or equivalent diagnostic tools
  • Ability to interpret network drawings fiber maps and technical documentation
  • Experience working in active data center or large-scale network environments
  • Ability to work independently and communicate technical findings clearly
  • Strong commitment to safety quality and accurate documentation

Highly Preferred Experience

  • Meta Data Center Experience
  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Experience
  • Hyperscale data centers including Microsoft AWS Google QTS Switch or similar
  • Network Technician III / Tech 3 experience
  • Lead Network Technician or Network Infrastructure Lead experience
  • Network infrastructure auditing and validation
  • Circuit troubleshooting and connectivity restoration
  • Data center network commissioning and turnover
  • Advanced fiber-optic troubleshooting testing and validation
  • Network switches port connectivity and physical-layer diagnostics
  • OTDR Fluke and optical power meter testing
  • Fiber polarity loss testing and optical signal verification
  • Rack-level network troubleshooting
  • BICSI CompTIA Network CCNA or relevant technical certifications

Compensation & Benefits

  • $35.00$43.00/hour DOE
  • $68/day Per Diem for Qualified Travelers
