The Medical Group Management Association (MGMA is looking for a Data Analyst to join our Denver/hybrid team.


The Data Project Analyst supports MGMAs healthcare survey products data collection cycles and data operations by assisting with survey data review validation file preparation participant communication documentation and support. This role helps maintain the accuracy consistency and integrity of MGMA survey data by applying established procedures understanding data metrics identifying potential data issues communicating progress and adhering to set deadlines.


Essential Functions:

  • Support assigned survey projects data collection activities data review tasks and operational deliverables within established timelines.
  • Assist with creating modifying reviewing and maintaining files used for automated report generation data editing data analysis and survey product creation.
  • Review survey data for completeness consistency reasonableness outliers missing information mathematical issues and other potential data quality concerns using established standards.
  • Apply routine validation checks to identify inconsistent logic respondent inconsistencies file issues and reporting concerns and document findings for review or follow-up.
  • Research assigned data issues assist with resolving discrepancies and escalate complex or non-standard issues to a manager senior analyst or subject matter expert.
  • Support quality review activities for assigned surveys reports outputs statistical tables automated files and other deliverables before reporting or release.
  • Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of survey data by following established review standards data validation practices and data handling procedures.
  • Support survey questionnaire development definition booklets statistical tables graphs supplemental research analysis reports and survey material reviews as assigned.
  • Communicate with survey respondents and key participants to clarify practice structure verify reported information correct survey questionnaire data and answer routine data questions.
  • Provide basic interpretation of reported survey information including revenue expenses staffing cost efficiency compensation production and related survey or product data with guidance as needed.
  • Support custom analysis requests publications presentations webinars marketing or sales collateral and other cross-functional data needs as assigned.
  • Contribute to recurring process documentation templates review steps SOPs troubleshooting notes and other materials that support consistency and continuity.
  • Collaborate with Data Operations Product Internal Data Marketing Sales and other teams to promote maintain and utilize survey data effectively.
  • Provide timely updates on assigned work file status issue follow-up dependencies and next steps.
  • Perform other duties as required and necessary to ensure the success of the organization.

Requirements

Knowledge skills and abilities:

  • Ability to consistently promote support work and act in a manner in support of MGMAs mission vision and values.
  • Ability to acquire and apply knowledge of survey design sampling evaluation assessment descriptive statistics and database systems.
  • Ability to learn MGMA survey products reporting structures data frameworks healthcare data trends and internal data reporting survey and workflow systems.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills with a high proficiency in Excel and the ability to develop proficiency in internal tools and databases.
  • Knowledge of data collection data operations data editing validation file auditing data review and quality assurance practices.
  • Ability to identify outliers missing data data gaps inconsistent logic and recurring data quality concerns using established review procedures.
  • Strong organizational attention to detail time-management communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to explain survey data and process-related information clearly to internal and external audiences.
  • Ability to identify problems research alternatives ask relevant questions and escalate complex issues appropriately.
  • Ability to apply sound judgment to routine assignments established review standards and documented procedures.
  • Ability to support process improvement through documentation workflow consistency and identification of routine efficiency opportunities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals from all organizational levels.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while recognizing when guidance review or escalation is needed.

Education:

  • A Bachelors Degree in Health or Business Administration Psychology Sociology Statistics Quantitative Methods Economics Accounting or related field is required.

Experience:

  • Three (3) or more years of experience in health care or business administration survey research or related field is required.
  • Experience in project design and/or management is preferred.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.

This is a largely sedentary role so employee must be able to remain in a sedentary position while focusing for extended periods of time throughout the workday. Position also requires occasional movement inside the office to access file cabinets printers etc. While performing the duties of this job employee is regularly required to successfully navigate scenarios requiring the following operational abilities:

  • Ability to operate PC/keyboard and other office productivity equipment
  • Ability to position self to traverse/navigate around typical office setting
  • Ability pull/push lift open/close grasp/manipulate transport up to 10 lbs.
