The Division of Corporations and Commercial Code in the Department of Commerce is looking for applicants with excellent verbal and written communication skills and data entry experience to fill their Document Examination & Customer Support Specialist vacancy.

**Offers hybrid flexibility! Work up to 3 days remotely per week following initial in-office training.

This position is integral to a high-volume division handling numerous business filings and extensive customer interaction via phone email online chat and virtual teleconferences. You will work in a call center setting while also being responsible for processing and examining applications and documents.

Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities and day to day responsibilities of this position:

  • Manage a high volume of incoming calls providing exceptional customer service and resolving inquiries related to business entity compliance and registration.
  • Clearly communicate registration requirements and application deficiencies to customers both verbally and in writing.
  • Assisting the public and other stakeholders with inquiries related to existing businessesUniform Commercial Code (UCC) filings and Trademark filings.
  • Accurately and efficiently enter new business entity registrations amendments and renewals into the electronic database.
  • Process and examine applications and documents to ensure compliance with applicableUtah Code.
  • Review interpret and apply complex legal statutes rules and procedures related to business entity filings.
  • Assist the public with navigation and use of the Divisions online filing systems.
  • Maintain organized digital records and filing systems.

Qualifications

Minimum or day-one qualifications:

  • Ability to attend the initial training period in-person at our Salt Lake City office with the understanding that hybrid telework (up to 3 days per week) is available once you have demonstrated understanding and competency in the basic functions of the position.
  • Prior customer service experience.
  • Prior data entry experience.

Preferred or trainable/on-the-job qualifications:

  • Proven ability to perform accurate high-volume data entry and process detailed applications in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the capacity to read understand and apply legal code statutes and administrative rules.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including professional phone etiquette.
  • A track record of providing outstanding customer service ideally in a call center or high-volume public interaction setting.
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Workspace applications.
