Job Summary

Reporting to the Thrift Shoppe & Volunteer Manager the Customer Service Associate OJT PRN is responsible for providing excellent customer service to thrift shoppe customers providing accurate cashier services and ensuring a positive shopping experience while promoting the mission of Gulfside Hospice.

This position is for students only!

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Currently pursuing a High School Diploma or GED or already possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Open and flexible availability to meet the business needs and reliable transportation.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide cashier service to customers by utilizing a cash register POS and/or credit card terminal.
  • Welcome and engage with customers as they enter the shoppe and respond to customer inquiries.
  • Provide excellent interaction and customer service to customers co-workers and volunteers both in shoppe and over the phone.
  • Straighten and restock the racks and shelves throughout the shift before opening and after closing.
  • Ensure fitting room returns and /or go-backs are returned to their proper department at end of shift.
  • Enroll customers in Thriftys loyalty program and maintain a round up rate of 50%.
  • Assist in other areas of thrift shoppe when necessary including at other thrift shoppe locations.
  • This position will occasionally require working during non-operating store hours and holidays which may include restocking days and promotional evening and weekend events.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Possess skill and experience using an electronic cash register or POS terminal and multi-line telephone.
  • Excellent organizational problem solving interpersonal customer service and verbal communication.
  • Ability to analyze check-out discrepancies and resolve quickly and accurately.
