Cranes & Rigging Manager

The Opportunity

The Cranes & Rigging Manager is responsible for the field execution implementation and verification of Integras Crane & Rigging Management System across assigned projects regions manufacturing facilities logistics operations and modular assembly yards.

Reporting to the Director of Cranes & Rigging this position serves as the primary operational resource for crane rigging hoisting engineered lifting and material handling activities within the assigned area. The Manager works directly with Operations HSE Engineering subcontractors crane providers Lift Directors operators riggers and project leadership to ensure lifting activities are properly planned reviewed coordinated and executed in accordance with Integra requirements.

The position maintains a strong field presence and focuses on eliminating Serious Injury and Fatality (SIF) exposure through effective lift planning direct controls competent-person verification field assessments PausePoint engagement and consistent execution of SafeState and Energy-Based Safety (EBS) principles.

What you will do

Crane & Rigging Program Execution

Implement and execute Integras Crane & Rigging Management System across assigned projects and operations.

Translate enterprise standards procedures technical guidance and Director-issued requirements into consistent field execution.

Serve as the primary Cranes & Rigging technical resource for assigned projects regions or facilities.

Partner with project Operations and HSE leadership to integrate lifting requirements into project planning sequencing and daily execution.

Escalate complex non-standard engineered or high-risk lifting conditions to the Director of Cranes & Rigging.

Project Startup & Lift Planning

Support project startup by evaluating crane access laydown areas lifting logistics site constraints sequencing overhead hazards ground conditions and anticipated lifting demand.

Assist project teams with crane selection setup locations mobilization planning and lifting schedules.

Review subcontractor crane and rigging programs before lifting operations begin and verify alignment with Integra requirements.

Verify required documentation certifications inspections lift plans engineering permits and approvals are in place before execution.

Participate in pre-lift planning meetings and coordinate with Operations Engineering HSE and subcontractor leadership.

Critical & High-Risk Lift Management

Review critical lift plans and complex lift packages for completeness technical accuracy field feasibility and compliance with Integra requirements.

Verify crane configurations load charts rigging arrangements lift points capacities ground bearing pressures exclusion zones communication methods and lift sequencing.

Coordinate Director review and approval when enterprise critical-lift criteria engineered-lift requirements or escalation thresholds are met.

Maintain field presence during critical lifts tandem lifts blind picks specialty lifts and other high-risk lifting operations as required.

Verify required management approvals and pre-lift briefings are complete before work proceeds.

Field Oversight & Assurance

Conduct routine crane rigging hoisting and material-handling field assessments across assigned operations.

Verify crane setup outrigger support assembly/disassembly activities swing-radius controls power-line clearances barricading exclusion zones rigging condition and signaling practices.

Use PausePoint and Energy-Based Safety (EBS) principles to identify high-energy exposure and ensure effective direct controls are established before work proceeds.

Stop or pause lifting operations when conditions deviate from the approved plan required controls are absent or an unacceptable SIF exposure exists.

Track field findings to closure and communicate recurring or systemic issues to the Director and applicable Operations/HSE leadership.

Subcontractor & Equipment Management

Evaluate crane providers rigging contractors and subcontractor lifting programs for compliance with Integra standards and project requirements.

Verify operator Lift Director rigger signal person inspector and other required qualifications before personnel perform assigned lifting functions.

Verify cranes hoists rigging equipment below-the-hook devices and specialty lifting equipment have required inspections certifications and documentation.

Coordinate corrective actions for deficient equipment documentation or subcontractor performance.

Incident Response & Learning

Immediately support investigations involving crane incidents rigging failures dropped objects equipment damage near misses and lifting-related SIF/pSIF events.

Participate in Root Cause Analyses (RCA) using Energy-Based Safety (EBS) and Human Performance principles.

Develop and track corrective actions within the assigned area and verify effective implementation.

Support communication and implementation of enterprise lessons learned and lifting-related learning bulletins.

Compliance & Auditing

Verify field compliance with OSHA 1926 Subpart CC applicable OSHA 1910 requirements ASME B30 standards ANSI/CMAA requirements where applicable client requirements manufacturer specifications and Integra standards.

Conduct crane audits rigging inspections subcontractor evaluations and compliance assessments.

Maintain accurate records of assessments inspections lift reviews findings and corrective-action closure.

Support regulatory client and internal audits related to lifting operations.

Training & Workforce Development

Coach crane operators signal persons qualified riggers rigging inspectors HSE personnel and project leadership on Integra lifting expectations.

Support qualification and competency verification processes established by the Director of Cranes & Rigging.

Deliver field-based crane and rigging training lessons learned and technical coaching.

Identify competency gaps and coordinate development plans with the Director HSE leadership Operations and Training.

Performance & Continuous Improvement

Track assigned-area performance including critical lift execution rigging inspection compliance lift-plan quality audit findings near misses dropped-object events equipment reliability and SIF exposure.

Provide performance data trends and field intelligence to the Director of Cranes & Rigging for enterprise KPI reporting.

Identify recurring field issues and recommend practical improvements to standards workflows training and controls.

Verify enterprise corrective actions and program improvements are implemented within assigned operations.

Leadership

Provide day-to-day technical leadership to project Lift Directors field SMEs and lifting personnel within the assigned area.

Build strong working relationships with Operations HSE Engineering Manufacturing Logistics Procurement subcontractors and crane providers.

Support staffing and resource planning for projects with significant crane and rigging scope.

Represent the Cranes & Rigging function in project meetings client discussions lift-planning sessions and operational reviews.

Provide timely escalation to the Cranes & Rigging Manager for significant risk technical disputes resource constraints or nonconformance.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• NCCCO Certified Crane Operator (or equivalent)
• Qualified Rigger Certification
• Qualified Signal Person Certification
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction
• First Aid / CPR / AED
• Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience in crane operations heavy rigging engineered lifting or construction operations.
• Minimum 5 years leading or directly overseeing complex lifting operations on large industrial commercial manufacturing or mission-critical construction projects.
• Demonstrated experience reviewing critical lifts multi-crane lifts engineered lift plans heavy rigging and complex material-handling operations.
• Experience supporting data centers manufacturing facilities power generation industrial construction modular construction or similar high-risk environments preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to influence field execution across Operations HSE subcontractors and lifting personnel.

Authorized to work in the applicable country.

Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record.

Ability to travel up to 5070% to construction projects manufacturing facilities client locations and corporate offices.

Ability to obtain client-specific site access and security clearances as required.

Work Environment

Combination of corporate/project office manufacturing facilities logistics yards and active construction sites.

Frequent field presence requiring exposure to varying weather conditions and industrial environments.

Ability to walk extensive job sites climb ladders and elevated work platforms access cranes and equipment and perform field inspections.

Must be able to wear required PPE and safely access active work areas.

Occasional extended travel and support for critical lifting operations outside normal business hours.
