Corporate Public Relations Lead, US

The Corporate PR Lead US will play a pivotal role in further shaping Wises US reputation as the global technology company that is building the best way to move and manage money around the world. 

This is a unique opportunity for someone that is passionate about corporate and financial communications as you will help strengthen Wises brand engagement among key business and finance stakeholders. Youll have the chance to work with different functions across the business to craft compelling narratives and unlock the business press stories that instill confidence in our US strategy our customer-centricity and our culture.

Overview:
Wise is looking for an experienced communications professional who is eager to develop high-quality storylines that elevate Wise and the work were doing to build the network for the worlds money.

This role will be focused on managing Wises reputation in the US particularly across key national and financial press. Youll be comfortable handling complicated and tricky issues when they come up and working with internal teams and journalists to ensure that Wises reputation is upheld. Youre familiar with industry jargon and know how to dive into the product or a topic to understand the details and then simplify them for your audiences. You have strong press contacts in national and financial media. Youre proactive creative and enjoy working in a fast-paced global team and organization. Your primary focus will be on the US while also working with members of the global Communications team to deliver projects and brand engagement narratives globally.

What youll do:

• Content development and execution: Support the creation of high-quality financial communications materials from scratchincluding scripts press releases presentations messaging and Q&A documents to support financial results and other relevant corporate announcements. Youll ensure all materials are accurate easy to understand and aligned with broader company messaging as a dual listed company on Nasdaq and the London Stock Exchange.

• Drive media engagement: Execute press relations by building and maintaining relationships with financial and business media owning these connections and prepping our executives for secured meetings and speaking opportunities. Youll lead on the development of briefing materials drafting responses to reporter inquiries and contributing to communications plans that enhance the companys reputation with key business and financial media.

• Crisis and issues management: Assess establish and maintain a crisis communications program that keeps our team a step ahead of the next news cycle. Lead rapid response communications during sensitive situations coordinating with global teams and providing steady leadership under pressure.

• Reputation building: Oversee media relations executive visibility and thought leadership for select corporate functionsidentify opportunities to strengthen Wises global reputation through disciplined messaging and proactive communications. 

• Partner cross-functionally: Develop relationships with stakeholders across IR Legal Marketing Product and Regional and Global Leadership teams to ensure communications efforts are aligned and reflect consistent brand voice. Provide communications counsel and deliver feedback that shapes how Wise shows up externally. 

• Think creatively: Bring outside the box thinking to traditional communications. Whether its LinkedIn or Substack youll monitor trends and put forward creative ideas that will help us shape the next wave of innovative storytelling at Wise.

Qualifications :

What youll bring:

• Communications experience: Youve spent 10 years building your career in public relations with a proven track record leading communications strategy. 

• Financial communications: At least 2 years in the financial communications space youve spent years supporting corporate news moments like earnings for a publicly traded company in the US.

• Strategic execution: Deep experience independently developing comprehensive strategies and creative storytelling that builds brand engagement and trust among key audiences. Youre not too senior to write a press release or brief an agency but youre strategic enough to shape direction.

• Strong written communication skills: Crafting creative concepts strategic briefs press releases and leadership communications is second nature to you. You can distill complex information into compelling narratives and adapt tone for different audiences with minimal edits.

• Crisis management experience: You can handle sensitive situations with composure having experience managing issues in regulated or complex environments. You know how to protect brand integrity while navigating challenging situations.

• Partner solutions: Have demonstrated the ability to work comfortably across a fast-paced organization to deliver quality materials that align stakeholder goals and meet audience expectations. 

• Tech/fintech sector expertise: Youve worked in-house in this space so you understand product launches and their technical nuances regulatory complexity fast-paced environments and how to communicate these concepts to everyday people.
