The Divided Sky Foundation a 501c3 nonprofit is seeking applicants to join our team and make a difference. We are an abstinence-based 12 Step residential recovery program located in Ludlow Vermont whose mission is to provide supportive and compassionate programming to individuals and their families affected by addiction.
We are looking for a cook to join our kitchen team! Create delicious and healthy meals for our guests.

As Cook you will support individuals on their recovery journey by planning and creating nutritious meals and maintaining an orderly and clean kitchen. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is dependable enjoys cooking and wants to support mission-driven work. This role reports to our Dining Services Coordinator.

General Description
The Cook will prepare and portion meals based on dietary needs of guests at the Divided Sky Residential Recovery Program. This position will assist in serving meals in a positive manner and maintain clean and sanitary conditions of food service areas and equipment.
Accountabilities
- Prepare and serve breakfast lunch and dinner for guests paying close attention to special diets.
- Ensure compliance with any federal state or local regulations.
- Maintain clean kitchen and work areas at all times.
- Serve meals and snacks and clear tables.
- Observe members for change in condition or unusual occurrences. Escalate concerns as appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Confidentiality: Must adhere to and respect all DSRRP policies regarding the anonymity and privacy of all guests. This includes written and verbal communication regarding past present or future guests identity address and presenting problems.

Education Experience Skills
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.
- Current Allergen Awareness Certificate and be Serve Safe certified or be willing to obtain upon hire.
- Experience working in food services with knowledge of food service sanitation proper food handling and preparation preferred
- Ability to read menus/recipes and ingredients
- Ability to track kitchen inventory and order items promptly to maintain adequate supplies.
- Must have or within 30 days from hire be able to obtain current First Aid and CPR card.
Work conditions and physical requirements:
- Work setting:Indoors environmentally controlled. Varied temperatures including work near heated ovens and in refrigerated walk-in coolers.
- Body positioning:Spend time sitting and standing making repetitive motions spend time using hands to handle control or feel objects tools or controls. Manual dexterity to handle knife work and food preparation. Frequently lift or move up to 40 lbs. and occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs.
- Communication:Contact with others electronic email in person discussions.
