The Opportunity: Controls Engineer Technician

Primary Function: The Controls Engineer Tech is responsible for machine control startup debugging calibration and verification on newly assembled or manufactured machines.

Essential Functions:

• Tests newly manufactured and assembled equipment according to each customers established test procedure.

• Uses specialized measuring diagnostic devices and software to evaluate functionality and proper sequence of machine control systems.

• Handles machine control startup debugging calibration and verification

• Notify appropriate management of recurring issues with equipment and/or operation of equipment when necessary.

• Assist with other duties as assigned by the Manager.
  

Reports To: Technical Manager

Qualifications:

Required

• Associates degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or similar or at least 2 years experience working as an electrical technician.
• Knowledge of electrical theory and practices including testing sensors switches actuators and indicators for proper function.
• Computer hardware maintenance methods techniques and network connection.
• Basic understanding of NEC standards and state codes.
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and annotated PLC programs.
• Manual Dexterity: working with wires using hand tools and handling small components.

Preferred

• Previous controls engineering tech experience in a contract manufacturing environment

A reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position is $21.00 - $30.00 per hour. The wage range for this role considers a wide range of factors when making compensation decisions including skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational requirements.
