Control Room Operator-Baltimore Marine Terminals

Position Summary Coordinate with management and operations to develop and implement the daily train dumping vessel loading and yard management plans and schedules to ensure the success of the Terminals Responsibilities Accept embrace and promote the following Core Values of Core Resources: Safety Sustainability & Continuous Improvement Inbound:Update Automatic Unit Train (AUTs) information stored in the Terminal Information System (TIS)Time ArrivalDumping Commence Time/CompletionEmpty pull and release date/timeVerify Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and inputs classification/pile destination to appropriate train Update and provide Kanawha Scale System (KSS) data for dumping operationsVerify official inventory and Input C1 scale weights data (Terminal Inventory System and KSS)Provide Dump Train Report to appropriate customer and railroadCoordinate/execute the dumping plan provided by Traffic DepartmentProvide coordination of coal sampling with subcontractor (SAI)Verify pile confirmation with operations supervisorMonitor and records Tons Per Hour (TPH) received while dumping trainSynchronize Federal Railroad Administration Inspections with subcontractor before being released to railroadCoordinates with railroad track assignments and empty train pulls (CNX & NS)Outbound:Communicate and coordinate berthing and completion times with vessel agentsEnsure scales are calibrated prior to vessel arrivalReceive and process official documents from the vessel captainsAppropriately manages coal cargo pile destination and special handling of material transfer during loading activitiesMonitors and executes blend requirements to ensure cargo meets customers specificationsAdditional Duties:Record safety lockouts throughout the terminal according to the terminal lock out proceduresMonitor weather conditions using radar and Thor Guard Lighting Detector; ensuring safe working conditionsTroubleshoot maintenance/operational deficiencies using PLC logic systemMaintain daily activity records/documents and submit reports as requiredMonitors terminal alarms and take appropriate corrective actionRequired Skills and Experience Demonstrated knowledge and experience performing the responsibilities of the Control RoomRelevant experience with troubleshooting while effectively providing timely and accurate solutions Ability to multi-task and monitor several process areas simultaneouslyMust possess effective verbal and written communication skillsRequires basic skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
