Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Purchasing and Risk Management the Contracts Analyst determines procurement methods formulation preparation and finalization of bids contracts license agreements service agreements maintenance agreements and equipment leases.

Requirements / Qualifications

A combination of education and experience which clearly demonstrates possession of the knowledge skills and abilities required of this classification. Typical qualifying education and experience may include one of the following:

  • A Bachelors degree in business accounting finance public administration or a related field and a minimum of two years of professional experience purchasing and contracting for goods and services in a public agency.
  • An Associates degree with substantial coursework in business accounting finance or a related field a minimum of two years of professional experience purchasing and contracting for goods and services in a public agency and two years of additional related experience.
  • A minimum of two years of professional experience purchasing and contracting for goods and services in a public agency and four years of additional related experience.

Public agency experience must include the application of laws policies and procedures related to purchasing and contracting services as well as analysis research review and reporting on bids requisitions vendors contractors and adherence to contract requirements.

California public school district experience is preferred.

Examination process: Completed applications are reviewed and candidates who meet the minimum qualifications participate in an examination process. Exam components may consist of a Performance Exam (weighted at 50%) and a Qualifications Appraisal Interview (weighted at 50%).
The competitive basis for this recruitment is Open/Promotional - Dual Certification. Candidates who pass all exams are placed on an eligibility list in order of overall exam score. The list is used to fill current and future vacancies for six months. The job posting will open until an eligibility list is established.
