Job Summary

Position: Project Estimator
Reports to: Program Executive
Location: Indianapolis Indiana
Salary Range: $100000 - $140000

We take into consideration a number of factors when preparing a compensation package for successful candidates such as market location experience skills and education.

Superior is looking for a Project Estimator who will be responsible for interpreting drawings reading specifications change order pricing and perform takeoffs on certain items. The Project Estimator operates primarily in the field and requires close coordination with project operations field supervision subcontractors and clients to ensure all scope changes and impacts are captured documented and aligned with project goals. This role is based on a jobsite in Indianapolis Indiana.

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand contract drawings and project specifications
  • Review RFIs bulletins and field directives to identify scope changes
  • Perform quantity takeoffs based on updated drawings and field conditions
  • Develop scopes of work for change orders including labor material equipment and subcontractor requirements
  • Support change order pricing using labor units historical data and field-verified productivity
  • Coordinate with field teams to validate installation methods and production rates
  • Track and document change events from identification through resolution
  • Maintain an up-to-date change order log including pending approved and disputed items
  • Prepare clear and organized cost backup for change order submissions
  • Assist in identifying schedule impacts related to scope changes
  • Support time-and-material (T&M) tracking including field tickets and installed quantities
  • Collaborate with project management and Tri-Venture partners to ensure alignment

Your Expertise

  • Required: You have proven experience as an Electrical Project Estimator in construction contracting or a related field
  • Required: You have strong knowledge of electrical systems installations methods and industry standards
  • Required: You are proficient in estimating software (e.g. Accubid Trimble Bluebeam or similar)
  • Bonus Points: You have earned an associate or bachelors degree in Construction Systems Management or a related field
