Job Summary

*1 year of natural gasconstructioninspection experience is preferred not required.
*Must live locally in the greater Buffalo NY or surrounding Counties territory.
What You Will Do
Oversee the quality control function on the complete range of natural gas distribution installation work done by contracted crews. Theinspector performs their work as a representative of the utility and is expected to establish and maintain a professional working relationship with all 3rd party contractors vendors and company personnel. Theinspector does not supervise or direct the contractors work but provides quality assurance through theinspection of work and materials in compliance with conformance requirements. Theinspector is empowered with Stop Work Authority and is responsible for maintaining a safe work site.
What You Will Earn
Starting Pay rate is $36 and UP based on experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Successfully complete classroom and hands-on training for the Northeast Gas Association and additional contractor specs.
  • Inspectcrews joining plastic pipes and fittings using heat fusion or mechanical methods.
  • Inspections of padding and shading material.
  • Logging Fusions
  • Recording and manually mapping assets / as-builtconstructiondrawings
Required Knowledge Skills and Attitude

Valid drivers license in the applicable state of employment Must be able to work overtime when duties cannot be performed within a normal work schedule 1 year of natural gasconstructioninspection experience is preferred not required. 5 years combined experience in utilityinspections pressure testing plastic pipe fusions coatinginspections pipeline monitoring natural gas distribution crew lead/foreman and municipality distribution crew lead/foreman. Excellent communication skills.

Physical Requirements
  • While performing the duties of this job employees regularly:
  • Drive 50 to 200 miles daily as required by the assigned geographic locating area
  • Stand and walk lengthy distances (1 miles)
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions
