Construction Engineer

AECOM is seeking a Construction Engineer to support aviation projects including airport runways taxiways and related infrastructure located in the Hunt Valley MD area. This position involves on-site documentation and coordination to ensure construction work complies with project plans specifications and applicable aviation standards.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

• Under general supervision performs routine duties
• Manage construction projects including coordinating schedules budgets quality safety and field operations
• Displays knowledge and abilities to evaluate select and apply standard engineering techniques procedures and criteria to meet basic engineering and construction specifications
• Displays applications of sound professional judgment on details of work
• Independently performs walk-downs and inspections of installed commodities to assure conformance with specifications and design
• Performs quantity surveys for tracking and reporting
• May provide technical direction to drafters technicians and surveyors
• Maintain comprehensive on-site documentation including daily reports inspection logs and construction records in compliance with aviation standards and regulatory requirements
• Coordinate with subcontractors vendors and project stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of materials and adherence to project schedules
• Process and track Requests for Information (RFIs) and change orders ensuring proper documentation and approval workflows
• Conduct material testing and quality assurance inspections to verify compliance with project specifications and industry standards
• Monitor and report on construction progress including milestone achievement and budget tracking to project management and clients

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:

• BA/BS plus 2 years of related experience or AS Degree plus 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
• Valid U.S Drivers License required to visit project sites clients and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review
• Due to the nature of the projects a US Citizenship is required 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) and/or Professional Engineer (PE) certification
• Current NICET ICC MARTCP or equivalent industry certifications
• Experience managing airport construction projects including project planning coordination scheduling quality assurance and stakeholder communication
• Demonstrated project management experience with aviation or airport infrastructure projects
