Leave Specialist
Leave Reps are responsible for understanding the FMLA and state regulations processing of leaves review of medical certifications and ongoing relationship management with employees requesting leaves and their Employer contacts. Partnering with other business areas (Benefits Center Contact Center etc.) is also important to the success of the leave management operation. Upon successful completion of training this role offers a career path with the ability to advance into a senior and/or lead level role.

Associate Life Event Specialist

Manages short-term disability claims and integrated leave requests by reviewing eligibility validating claims and coordinating with clinical and vocational experts. Ensures smooth claim transitions clear communication and strong relationships with employer contacts while maintaining service and quality standards.

Accommodation Specialist

Serves as a key partner in delivering high-quality absence management solutions for key client partnerships navigating complex regulatory and corporate leave policies and fostering trusted relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. This role demands adaptability and exceptional communication to integrate seamlessly with client teams third-party administrators and internal Unum partners. Specialists resolve operational challenges and drive positive outcomes for clients and their employees while actively supporting continuous improvement and professional growth in a dynamic high-impact environment.

Overall Job Requirements (may vary based on role)

• High School degree required
• Strong interpersonal skills and customer relationship skills
• Strong business communication skills (telephone e-mail written)
• Knowledge of Windows/Microsoft Office suit; general keyboard and computer skills (Word Excel Outlook)
• Decision making and analytical skills
• Attention to detail and organizational skills

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description actual pay will be based on skill geographical location and experience.
