Configuration Engineer I

This is a 12-month contract position with the possibility of extension and potential for future permanent employment.

As a Configuration Engineer you will play a crucial role in transforming product requirements and engineering design intent into actionable product definitions. You will work closely with our Gas Turbine Configuration Management (CM) organization to ensure on-time and quality product definition delivery to our global supply chain functions.

• Create and maintain Engineering and Unit Bill of Materials (BOMs) and manage their integration into ERP systems throughout the projects lifecycle.
• Support the Inquiry to Order (ITO) team in transitioning project scope definitions in the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tool.
• Collaborate with Project Engineering to ensure timely handoff of requisition scope definitions.
• Verify accurate generation of logical features and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with the ITO CM team.
• Support Preliminary BOM review meetings for Steam Turbine and Generator products.
• Assist manufacturing and sourcing teams in addressing BOM concerns and conduct regular integrity monitoring.
• Execute CM responsibilities in Change Management processes and collaborate towards continuous improvement and Lean activities.
• Ensure compliance with Client Gas Power procedures processes and contractual requirements.

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics Chemistry Mathematics or Computer Science.
• Experience in product definition development BOM management configuration management concepts and project scheduling.

• Experience with PLM systems.
• Clear thinking and openness to new ideas with experience implementing new tools and processes.
