Computer Vision Engineer

Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing manufacturing and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers while producing minimal noise.

What youll do:

• Develop the onboard perception stack fusing camera lidar and radar data for object detection tracking and precision landing capabilities
• Design and implement deep-learning and classical computer vision algorithms for real-time embedded deployment
• Perform sensor calibration and multi-sensor fusion across camera lidar and radar
• Optimize perception algorithms for real-time performance on embedded compute
• Analyze test data to characterize and improve perception performance
• Collaborate with navigation controls and hardware teams to integrate perception outputs into the broader system

What you need:

• Strong background in computer vision and/or machine learning with a degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience
• Proficiency in C and Python
• Experience with deep-learning frameworks (PyTorch TensorRT) and classical CV (OpenCV)
• Experience processing lidar and/or radar point-cloud data
• Experience with sensor calibration and multi-sensor fusion
• Demonstrated ability to take algorithms from concept through real-time embedded deployment

Bonus Qualifications:

• Experience deploying perception models on NVIDIA Jetson / CUDA-based embedded platforms
• Experience with precision or automated landing systems
• Background in subscale aircraft robotics or vehicle perception
