Job Summary
Position Description:
CGI Federal is looking for outgoing experienced Computer Operators I to join our team. The ideal candidates should possess excellent communication skills have experience in customer service and be able to work as a team in a fast paced environment. This position processes highly sensitive and confidential information. Experience with contracts and processing is preferred.
Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements US Citizenship is required. The selected candidate must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 45lbs. This position may require long hours of standing. As a result the selected candidate will be expected to be able to stand and walk around the worksite for the entirety of their shift.
This position is located in San Diego CA.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the Section Leader operates Book Master passport printers. Must have knowledge of current travel document issuance software basic understanding of other Department of State specified software and computer operating systems. Must be able to operate personalization printing equipment. Ability to conduct quality control checks of printed passports and identify manufacturer flaws in passports. Ability to follow approved document sequencing procedures. Understands and complies with all internal control regulations for the Passport Agency/Center facility as outlined in the Internal Controls Guidelines and immediately reports any internal control concern.
.Maintain control and accountability of all travel documents received and returned
.Initialize and monitor Book Master and travel card printers during print operations
.Assign and que workloads
.Load books into input hoppers
.Activate workloads
.Clear minor printer jams
.Remove books from output hoppers
.Review printed passports for printing and data errors and quality
.Complete and maintain daily weekly and monthly production tracking and other reports
.Complete and maintain performance reports to ensure maximum utilization of printers
.Ability to troubleshoot issues with printer performance and document for tracking and correction
.Follow all OSHA safety protocols and standards as required
.Monitor and operate dual computer consoles in accordance with operating instructions to process printing operations
.Perform pre operation activities on one or more Book Master printers to ensure appropriate startup and operation
.Responsible for training others in proper operations of printers and printing of passport books and/or travel cards
.Ensure production standards are maintained
.Responsible for effectively communicating with Systems Administrators and GET Technicians via MS Teams and in person to resolve issues and coordinate maintenance of printers
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
.Proven ability to operate complex computer software systems and/or machinery
.Able to stand for long periods with short breaks every two hours
.Moderate knowledge of MS Excel and computer systems switching between screens
.Good hand eye coordination
.Ability to remain flexible and adapt under pressure in stressful situations and follow instructions and established procedures
.Capable of performing repetitive tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy
.Capable of lifting 35 lbs. standing reaching twisting stacking moving/stacking boxes and reading
.Ability to multi task while paying attention to detail and accuracy
.Ability to effectively and politely interface with colleagues and DOS personnel both verbal and written.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
.High School diploma or equivalent
.4 years of proven moderate computer usage
Desired qualifications/non essential skills required:
Knowledge and understanding of the laws rules and regulations pertaining to eligibility for and issuance of a U.S. Passport.
Hourly Rate: $24.25/hour
CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors including but not limited to: skill set level relevant experience and training and licensure and certifications. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
