- Responsibilities include supporting interconnection and grid compliance testing (PPA GIA/LGIA ISO) leading system walkdowns and punch list closure executing approved commissioning procedures and schedules monitoring field activities for safety and standards compliance collecting and reviewing test results and turnover documentation identifying technical issues and supporting resolution with engineering and operations teams.
- This execution-focused role does not include people management authority and is intended to supplement internal commissioning teams during peak project phases requiring strong working knowledge of utility-scale solar BESS substations electrical systems controls and SCADA along with the ability to work in active construction environments with travel and extended commissioning windows as needed.
Role Summary
We are seeking a Quality Engineering & Agile Delivery Lead to establish the quality engineering and delivery practices. This is not a traditional manual QA or Scrum Master position. The successful candidate will combine software quality engineering test automation release management and Agile leadership to help the team deliver reliable cloud software rapidly and predictably. This role will own the overall quality strategy while also facilitating the Agile processes that enable the team to plan execute validate and release software effectively.Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement the quality engineering strategy.
- Develop automated testing frameworks covering APIs UI data pipelines integrations and end-to-end workflows.
- Establish regression testing and release-validation processes.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop test strategies for cloud deployments and distributed applications.
- Coordinate functional integration performance security and reliability testing.
- Define release-readiness criteria and ensure deployments meet agreed quality standards.
- Establish defect management root-cause analysis and quality metrics.
- Work with Data Engineering and AI/ML team members to establish validation strategies for data and AI-generated outputs.
- Facilitate sprint planning backlog refinement daily standups sprint reviews and retrospectives.
- Help Product Ownership and Engineering maintain clear acceptance criteria and definitions of ready/done.
- Track dependencies impediments technical debt and delivery risks.
- Use metrics such as deployment frequency escaped defects cycle time test coverage and release reliability to drive continuous improvement.
- Promote a culture where quality is an engineering responsibility rather than a final testing phase.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering Information Systems or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of experience in software quality engineering SDET or software development/testing.
- Strong experience with automated testing frameworks.
- Experience testing APIs web applications distributed systems and cloud applications.
- Programming or scripting experience using Python JavaScript/TypeScript Java or similar technologies.
- Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum product development.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and improving team delivery practices.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience testing AWS-hosted applications.
- Experience with performance and load testing.
- Experience validating data-intensive applications and data pipelines.
- Experience testing AI/ML or LLM-based systems.
- Scrum Master Agile Coach or similar certification.
- Experience with observability and production monitoring.
- Experience in highly regulated or critical infrastructure environments.
