Summary:

The Application Engineer is responsible for providing technical support to the sales organization including preparing quotations.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain a general understanding of all Voith Fiber Systems products and processtechnology working with existing Application Engineers.

Determine customer needs problems and requirements and deliver a solution (system or singlemachine) to fulfill/solve it.

Define and size the required machines and systems according to the Voith EngineeringDirectives.

Develop accurate competitive and appropriate quotations in a timely manner and developaccurate and detailed cost estimates.

Maintain a well-organized quotation file with accurate and current Sizing Sheets BalancesCorrespondences Equipment Specifications.

Assist Sales Team to help determine customer needs and promote Voith products andtechnology through email phone calls meetings or site visits.

Support (participate) in the start-up and optimization of systems sold as required to maintain athorough understanding of the process.

If required present at customer site or conferences.

Work as a team with cross-departmental colleagues.

Qualifications:

Enrolled in a qualified educational program for a BS degree in Pulp & Paper Science or ChemicalEngineering.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to talk technically with sales and engineering colleagues (local national international).

Excellent organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint ability to learn other programs.

Discretion in dealing with confidential data.

Paper mill experience will be advantageous but not necessary.

Self starter requiring little guidance from superiors.
