Transparent Search Group is conducting a search on behalf of a manufacturing client in the Iowa City area seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Technician to join their production team. This is a hands-on technical role suited to a candidate who is comfortable both programming and operating CNC equipment in a precision manufacturing environment. This position is open to local candidates only; relocation assistance is not available.
Responsibilities
Develop and modify CNC programs for lathe and mill operations using CAD/CAM software
Set up operate and adjust CNC machines to meet production specifications and tolerances
Interpret engineering drawings blueprints and technical specifications
Perform routine inspection of finished parts to verify dimensional accuracy
Troubleshoot programming errors and machine issues to minimize downtime
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize machining processes
Maintain documentation of programs setups and process changes
Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a clean organized shop environment
Qualifications
Demonstrated CNC programming experience in a manufacturing setting
Proficiency with CAD/CAM software
Hands-on experience operating CNC lathes and mills
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Effective communication and the ability to work within a team environment
Associate degree or technical certification in machining or a related field preferred
