CNC Programmer / Technician Iowa City Iowa
Transparent Search Group is conducting a search on behalf of a manufacturing client in the Iowa City area seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Technician to join their production team. This is a hands-on technical role suited to a candidate who is comfortable both programming and operating CNC equipment in a precision manufacturing environment. This position is open to local candidates only; relocation assistance is not available.
Responsibilities
- Develop and modify CNC programs for lathe and mill operations using CAD/CAM software
- Set up operate and adjust CNC machines to meet production specifications and tolerances
- Interpret engineering drawings blueprints and technical specifications
- Perform routine inspection of finished parts to verify dimensional accuracy
- Troubleshoot programming errors and machine issues to minimize downtime
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize machining processes
- Maintain documentation of programs setups and process changes
- Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a clean organized shop environment
Qualifications
- Demonstrated CNC programming experience in a manufacturing setting
- Proficiency with CAD/CAM software
- Hands-on experience operating CNC lathes and mills
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Effective communication and the ability to work within a team environment
- Associate degree or technical certification in machining or a related field preferred
