Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Programmer / Setup Operator to support aerospace machining operations. This role is responsible for programming setting up troubleshooting and optimizing CNC milling and lathe machines while ensuring quality and production efficiency.
The ideal candidate has strong CAM programming experience machining knowledge and the ability to support complex aerospace manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Write and edit CNC programs for:
Multi-axis CNC mills
CNC lathes
Grinding equipment
Set up CNC machines according to:
Blueprints
Tooling instructions
Engineering specifications
Utilize CAM software such as:
GIBBS CAM
SolidWorks
AutoCAD (preferred)
Select tooling determine speeds/feeds and optimize machining processes
Perform first-piece inspections and verify dimensional accuracy
Troubleshoot programming and machining issues
Support continuous improvement and setup reduction initiatives
Train and mentor less experienced machinists and operators
Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams
Required Qualifications
3 5 years of CNC programming and setup experience
Strong experience with:
Multi-axis machining
CNC mills and lathes
G-code programming
CAM programming experience required
Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge
Strong machining math and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
Aerospace machining experience
GIBBS CAM experience
SolidWorks or AutoCAD experience
Experience mentoring machinists or operators
