What You Will Do:

Pratt & Whitneys Bridgeport WV Engine Center is seeking a CMM Inspector to perform precision dimensional inspection on aircraft engine components undergoing overhaul and this role youll use Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) PC-DMIS and a variety of precision measurement equipment to evaluate critical dimensions fits and clearances and determine component conformance and serviceability.

This is an opportunity to apply your inspection and metrology skills in a highly regulated aerospace environment where precision matters. Youll work with complex engineering drawings technical specifications and GD&T requirements while partnering with Engineering and Quality to evaluate challenging component configurations. This role will train on 1st shift and will ultimately support our 2nd shift (which runs from 3:30PM 1:30AM Monday-Thursday).

Pratt & Whitney Canadas site in Bridgeport WV is a FAA regulated facility and as such under the U.S. Departments of Transportations Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing as a pre-employment contingency and also subject to ongoing random testing as an employee per FAAs regulation 14 CFR part 120 as well as 49 CFR part 40.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform a wide variety of dimensional inspection duties relating to overhaul and repair of engines or components.
• Perform dimensional checks using Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
• Work with a variety of precision measurement gages; height gage micrometer calipers and optical comparator.
• Work from general instructions and specifications such as drawings service bulletins repair requests overhaul manuals and other technical publications.
• Interpret complex blueprint drawings and work with engineering when measuring complicated component configurations.
• Ability to read understand measurement and tolerances.
• Use Geometric Dimensional Tolerance (PWA360) when measuring crucial fits and clearances.
• Must be able to provide component dimensions visual and dimensional inspection of a variety of engine components to determine serviceability and conformance to overhaul / repair manual specifications.
• Comply with all company work rules follow safe work practices and procedures established to protect the environment and report to supervisors all unsafe acts hazardous conditions and conditions which impact or have the potential to impact the environment.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent and a minimum of 1 year of experience in dimensional inspection CMM operation precision measurement machining or a related manufacturing environment
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings dimensions and tolerances.
• Ability to use precision measurement equipment.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• CMM programming or editing experience using PCDMIS software
• Experience with CMMs precision measurement equipment machining or aerospace/engine component inspection
• Working knowledge of GD&T and the ability to interpret dimensional tolerances on engineering drawings.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
• Experience in aerospace aviation precision machining or another close-tolerance manufacturing environment.
• Associates degree in a STEM field

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers as they are essential to the development of our engines.
