Were looking for an experienced Cloud Solution Engineer to become a trusted technical partner to strategic Department of Defense accounts with primary alignment to the Department of the Army.

This isnt a role where youll move from one disconnected opportunity to the next. Youll be account-aligned developing a deep understanding of your customers missions environments programs stakeholders and technology priorities. Youll partner closely with Oracle sales leaders and remain engaged throughout the customer lifecyclefrom early discovery and architecture through technical evaluation award deployment adoption and expansion.

Youll be Oracles technical presence in the account and an advocate for the customer inside Oracle.

This is a hybrid position that involves a minimum 3 days a week in-office work and/or meetings at the client site. Candidates must be based in the greater Washington DC area

Responsibilities

What Youll Do

As a Cloud Solution Engineer youll own the technical relationship with your assigned accounts and help customers determine how cloud data and emerging technologies can support their mission.

Youll:

• Serve as the dedicated technical advisor to named Department of Defense accounts and partner with account executives throughout the sales cycle.
• Lead technical discovery to understand customer missions existing environments modernization priorities program requirements and technical challenges.
• Architect cloud solutions supporting programs of record modernization initiatives migrations and new mission workloads.
• Design and deliver compelling technical demonstrations workshops whiteboarding sessions and proofs of concept tailored to customer requirements.
• Lead technical contributions to RFIs RFPs formal evaluations and complex government procurements.
• Translate mission and program requirements into reference architectures migration strategies and longer-term technical roadmaps.
• Remain engaged after award to help customers successfully deploy workloads and drive adoption consumption and expansion.
• Develop lasting relationships with stakeholders ranging from engineers and architects to program offices and senior technical leadership.
• Bring the customers voice back into Oracle working with specialists product management engineering and partners to address requirements and technical gaps.
• Help customers explore the secure adoption of AI and generative AI including cloud-based AI infrastructure and GPU-enabled workloads.

What Youll Bring

Were looking for someone who combines strong cloud architecture expertise with the ability to earn credibility and trust in complex customer environments.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in solution engineering technical presales cloud architecture cloud engineering or a related customer-facing technical role.
• Hands-on experience with at least one major hyperscale cloud platform: Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) AWS Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). OCI experience is preferred.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture concepts spanning areas such as compute storage networking databases identity and access management containers/Kubernetes and observability.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical requirements into practical architectures and solutions.
• Experience building and sustaining technical relationships within large government defense or enterprise accounts.
• Experience supporting complex technical evaluations solution demonstrations proofs of concept or formal RFI/RFP procurement processes.
• Strong presentation demonstration and whiteboarding skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both deeply technical audiences and senior stakeholders.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Experience That Will Help You Stand Out

Were especially interested in candidates who bring experience in one or more of these areas:

• Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and the broader Oracle technology portfolio.
• Department of Defense or federal government cloud environments.
• An active Secret clearance or higher.
• DoD security and compliance frameworks including DISA SRG Impact Levels IL4 IL5 and IL6 FedRAMP High NIST SP 800-53 and ATO processes.
• Cloud-based AI generative AI or GPU infrastructure.
• Supporting cloud migrations application modernization data platforms or mission-critical workloads.
• DoD acquisition processes contract vehicles formal technical evaluations and program office dynamics.
• OCI certifications such as OCI Architect Associate or OCI Architect Professional or comparable certifications from AWS Azure or Google Cloud.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $118700 to $194400 per annum. May be eligible for equity. Eligible for commission with an estimated pay mix of 70/30.


Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge skills experience market conditions and locations as well as reflect Oracles differing products industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
