We are looking for a Senior Cloud Data Engineer to design develop and maintain scalable data platforms and data pipelines on AWS. You will work across data engineering cloud infrastructure automation and data governance to deliver reliable and secure solutions at scale.
The ideal candidate combines strong AWS data engineering and Python development skills with experience in Snowflake Terraform and CI/CD.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable cloud data pipelines and data lake solutions using AWS.
- Build and maintain data processing workflows using AWS Glue S3 Lambda and Step Functions.
- Implement data governance security and access controls using AWS Lake Formation.
- Develop automation and integrations using Python Boto3 and AWS APIs.
- Build and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform.
- Develop test and deploy applications and data pipelines using CI/CD practices.
- Work with Snowflake and other modern data platforms to support data integration and analytics.
- Monitor troubleshoot and optimize production workloads using CloudWatch and Splunk.
- Partner with engineers architects and stakeholders to deliver reliable and scalable data solutions.
- Use modern AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot Claude and agentic workflows to improve engineering productivity.
Minimum Qualifications
- 6 years of professional experience in cloud data engineering or a related field.
- Hands-on experience developing data solutions on AWS.
- Strong experience with:
- AWS Glue
- Amazon S3
- AWS Lambda
- AWS Step Functions
- AWS Lake Formation
- Strong Python programming skills.
- Experience with Snowflake.
- Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience with CI/CD Git/Bitbucket and Jenkins.
- Experience with software testing release processes and production deployments.
- Strong understanding of data lake architecture data pipelines and cloud data engineering practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Databricks and Apache Spark.
- Experience with AWS Athena EMR or Redshift.
- Experience with Control-M or other enterprise scheduling platforms.
- Experience with AWS CLI and Boto3.
- Experience with Java or Scala.
- Experience with ServiceNow.
- Experience with AWS CloudWatch and Splunk.
- Knowledge of Snowflake Horizon Catalog or Databricks Unity Catalog.
- Experience applying AI-assisted development tools including Copilot Claude or agentic workflows.
- Experience with cloud data governance security and access management.
