Job Summary
Overview
The Clinical Systems Coordinator supports the effective administration optimization and day-to-day operation of Epic Evolv and related clinical information systems while coordinating health information management activities. The position serves as the primary operational resource for system users manages EHR support functions coordinates training and workflow optimization efforts and helps ensure data integrity regulatory compliance and effective use of clinical technology throughout the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
EHR Administration and Clinical Systems Support
- Serve as the primary operational resource for Epic Evolv and other clinical information systems.
- Coordinate user account requests role assignments access reviews and security-related system functions.
- Assist with system configuration maintenance upgrades enhancements and testing activities.
- Monitor support tickets user concerns and system issues and coordinate timely resolution.
- Troubleshoot workflow and system utilization issues in collaboration with EPIC analyst IT resources vendors and operational leaders.
- Support implementation of new EPIC functionality workflows templates forms and documentation tools.
- Coordinate communication regarding system updates enhancements downtime procedures and workflow changes.
- Maintain system support documentation procedures user guides and training materials.
Clinical Workflow Optimization
- Evaluate clinical and operational workflows and recommend improvements utilizing available EPIC functionality and best practices.
- Collaborate with operational leaders to improve documentation processes workflow efficiency and data capture.
- Participate in workflow redesign and implementation projects.
- Monitor recurring workflow issues and identify opportunities for system optimization.
Training and User Support
- Coordinate onboarding and role-based EHR training.
- Provide ongoing user education coaching and workflow support.
- Develop and maintain training curricula tip sheets and reference materials.
- Conduct refresher training and competency assessments as needed.
- Support user adoption of new functionality and best practices.
Health Information Management
- Coordinate activities that support the integrity privacy security and maintenance of electronic health information.
- Monitor documentation standards and work with departments to improve chart completeness and data quality.
- Assist with record management processes release of information procedures retention practices and health information workflows.
- Support organizational compliance with HIPAA and health information management policies.
- Participate in audits related to documentation quality record accuracy and information governance.
- Collaborate with compliance and quality staff regarding documentation improvement opportunities.
Collaboration
- Serve as liaison between users leadership vendors and technical teams regarding system functionality and support needs.
- Participate in organizational technology and workflow improvement initiatives.
- Support regulatory readiness activities involving clinical systems and health information management.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in healthcare administration Nursing Health Information Management Information Systems or a related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with Epic in a healthcare environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare workflows including clinical documentation registration scheduling and patient care processes.
- Experience supporting Epic users healthcare workflows system optimization implementation or clinical operations.
- Experience with project coordination workflow improvement process improvement or change management preferred.
- Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or ambulatory healthcare setting preferred.
- Experience providing staff education coaching or system training preferred.
- Epic certification or other formal Epic training preferred.
Compensation
$80000 annually
