The Clinical Placement Advisor is responsible for advising students regarding clinical opportunities questions and concerns related to clinical experience success; supporting and guiding students through the clinical experience to include decisions related to clinical process clinical application compliance requirements and questions related to the clinical experience. Conduct outreach related to clinical experience recommend resources and provide personalized support for all assigned students.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors Degree required; Masters Degree preferred (does not have to be in nursing)
  • Minimum of three years relevant student support experience or customer service
  • Knowledge of healthcare environments

Compensationisdeterminedbased on the qualifications experience and circumstances of each hire. It is uncommon for new employees to start near the top of the salary range. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including a tuition waiver and reimbursement program health insurance paid time off and a retirement savings plan. The hourly pay range for this position is $23.20 to $31.39.

RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Advise students related to clinical issues that are impacting their success. Discuss options with them and the pros and cons of these options. Provides guidance to assist students with decision-making.
  • Answer students general questions and resolve basic issues related clinical or direct them to the appropriate person to answer questions.
  • Inform the program chair of students who are in violation of the University attendance policies (clinical) and inform them of the impact it will have on their academic success. Provide recommendations or resources to support them.
  • Contact students who are referred by stakeholders and provide them with appropriate resources to address their personal issues or clinical concerns.
  • Provide opportunities for collaboration between students and stakeholders to improve relations when there are complaints from students about clinical experiences.
  • Support student scheduling/rescheduling per University standards.
  • Work in collaboration with faculty/staff/administration to assist students who are experiencing personal or academic concerns to find appropriate solutions.
  • Review system alerts and determine if level of alert is appropriate. Provide updates on communication with students.
  • Organize and implement student outreach activities to maximize student potential.
  • Prepare materials for and conduct student office hours on how to access & navigate the Clinical Guidance Process including application and clinical resources page as well as discussion of clinical situations. Collaborate with inter and intra department personnel to resolve student issues related to clinical.
  • Collect organize and act on data to support student retention in the clinical setting. Analyze data for patterns of student drops related to clinical to determine appropriate outreach opportunities for next term.
  • May be assigned university wide projects and departmental projects.
  • Make recommendations for improvements to departmental processes.
  • All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office to include: Word Outlook Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Solid decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and part of a team to resolve problems with sound professional judgment.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.
