Overview:

Sentara Leigh Hospital located in Norfolk Virginia is hiring a Clinical Infection Preventionist to join our team.

In this role you are responsible for the development implementation and monitoring of site-specific infection prevention and control initiatives and for the support of surveillance activities at the division and system level. Responsible for ensuring state federal (i.e. Centers for Disease Control) regulatory and accreditation standards are met to include required communicable disease reporting. You will provide leadership and expertise to site-specific administrative and clinical staff leadership through rounding staff education and training and promotion of evidence-based/best practices to improve quality outcomes.

Position Available

• Full-Time; 40 hours per week

• There may be local travel and On Call

Education

• Bachelors degree. (Preferred from an accredited university or college with emphasis in nursing clinical quality improvement microbiology epidemiology or related field)

License / Certification

• Individuals who hold a license or certification are required to hold and maintain that credential.

• Certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology (i.e. Certification in Infection Control or CIC preferred. Required within one year of eligibility.

Experience

• Two (2) years in healthcare

• Preferred two (2) years infection control and prevention

• Expert knowledge of infection surveillance prevention and control standards and initiatives as well as performance/process improvement concepts preferred.

• Project management experience preferred.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages inclusive of base pay incentives and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $93579.20 - $139048.00 annually. Additional compensation may be available for this role such as shift differentials standby/on-call pay overtime shift premiums extra-shift incentives or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications experience location market conditions and business needs. Note: If an annual salary is posted it is based on a full-time colleague working 2080 hours annually.
