Description:

GENERAL SUMMARY AND PURPOSE:

Collaborates with Unit/Department Managers and other educators to provide American Heart Association and other certification courses with the goal of enhanced clinical practice professional growth of the staff and the assurance of safe and effective healthcare to patients.

SKILLS KNOWLEDGE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Licensed in the State of Idaho as an EMT LPN RN RT or Paramedic licensed in the State of Idaho or registered with the National Registry.

Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire in all units unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS as defined in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk.

Other certifications may be required as identified in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk.

Two years of direct patient care experience in the licensed role required and one year of American Heart Association course instruction preferred

Experience in nursing/clinical education desirable.

Maintains records of educational offerings.

Maintains own clinical skills and competence related to clinical practice and staff development.
