Job Summary

Job Summary:

The overall goal of the Clinical Advisor is to provide excellent support and customer service to all students resulting in successful completion of their education and an enduring personal connection to the University. Specifically the Clinical Advisor is responsible for assisting students in identifying appropriate site placement and preceptors by providing resources and support in utilizing the clinical app and community map acting as support for students in site and preceptor identification and keeping them abreast of timelines.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides one on one support to facilitate appropriate clinical site and preceptor identification and placement for students.

  • Ensures students have appropriate information and tools to assist them in successfully obtaining a clinical site.

  • Assists students with strategies to maintain and build relationships with their preceptor prior to their clinical practicum.

  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge and understanding of state requirements for clinical placement and assure students understand requirements for placement.

  • Completes accurate and timely documentation related to clinical placements and student interactions. Assists with the gathering of data for reports and process improvement.

  • Participates as a team member of the Clinical Outreach and Placement team contributing to a positive culture team goal achievement and partner in process improvement for the success of all students.

  • Collaborates with Clinical Directors faculty and staff to ensure the quality of clinical site placements.

  • Collaborates with Credentialing Unit to ensure that students have efficient and timely clinical placement.

  • Maintains communication with sites within the scope of the role.

  • Adhere to the elements of the Culture of Caring

  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Google Suite (Gmail Drive Docs
    Sheets Hangouts etc.)

  • Ability to work as an effective and positive team member

  • Ability to work in a fast paced and evolving environment (positively embrace change)

  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations


Education and Experience:

  • Baccalaureate degree required; Masters degree preferred

  • At least five years of experience in customer service

  • Experience in healthcare or higher education preferred


Physical Requirements:

  • Sit at a desk for lengthy periods of time.

  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.

Reporting Relationship:

This position reports to the Director of Clinical Outreach and Placement


Work Location:

Eligible for hybrid telecommuting after 30 days of employment.
