Classroom Teaching Aide

• Prepares lesson materials and classroom curriculum based on individual student needs.
• Assists lead teacher in developing and adapting conventional teaching methods to meet the individual needs of students.
• Works with students in small groups helping with reading and math.
• Provides extra support to students with physical mental or linguistic limitations.
• Maintains detailed records of students progress on instruction or behavioral goals.
• Supports students with assistive devices and supportive technologies.
• Performs specialized tasks to achieve instructional and behavioral objectives.
• Monitors students during activities and downtime and intervene in case of adverse activities.
• Adapts classroom activities and assignments to serve the purpose and reinforces class objectives.
• Communicates with students to determine their needs and ensures that these needs are being fulfilled properly.
• Operates equipment such as computers printers laminators.
• Enforces school rules and policies.
• Other duties as assigned.

• At least one year of experience working in an elementary school setting.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree in education or related field is preferred.

• Must be flexible and willing to learn.
• Must have a good attitude and good work ethic.
• Must be able to get along well with others.
