DATE:October 15 1996TITLE:CLASSROOM SUPPORT INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT SALARY 10None or a limited number of : 12Completion of 15 semester units of a varied academic program. 15Completion of 30 semester units of a varied academic program 15 of which must be education courses or related subjects. 18An AA Degree (60 semester units or more 30 of which must be education courses or related subjects) or 60 units of education SUMMARYUnder general supervision to assist teachers with instructional duties and related work as : 1High school graduation or its equivalent. pass basic high school competency test. to speak and write effectively; understand and follow oral and written instructions; work effectively with young people; work independently on own initiative; establish and maintain cooperative relationships; ability to work calmly and accurately under pressure and with frequent : in youth activities. and understanding of developmental stages of students. to communicate in FUNCTIONS students individually or in groups in prescribed subject matter under direction of certificated staff. and correct teacher-prepared tests. on-campus student activities as assigned under the guidance and direction of an administrative staff member. teacher(s) in clerical duties such as photocopying and recordkeeping as assigned. set up and use audiovisual equipment and computers to assist students. other duties as REQUIREMENTS to sit for extended periods of time. to stand and circulate for extended periods of time. require the ability to ascend or descend steps. to see and read with or without vision aids. to hear and understand speech at normal levels. to communicate so others will clearly understand normal conversation. to bend and twist kneel and stoop. to lift/carry/push/pull up to 20 pounds on a regular basis and push/pull up to 50 pounds occasionally. to reach in all dexterity in limbs and digits to operate audiovisual equipment and : This list of essential functions and of physical requirements is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary in accordance with the requirements of the the direction of the teacher assigned and the supervision of the principal or designee.
